About this journal

It's 3 a.m., the baby is finally asleep on your chest, and you're trying to remember when the last wake-up was. Eleven? One? Did the afternoon nap happen at all, or was that yesterday?

Nobody remembers 3 a.m. clearly. That's exactly why baby sleep feels so random.

Night Watch is a baby sleep journal for sixty days of naps, night wakings, and slow progress. Each day gets one page: naps with times and places, the wake windows between them, the bedtime routine, and every night waking with what helped. It takes about a minute, mostly filled in while you're up anyway. After a couple of weeks, your baby's real rhythm starts to show. You'll see which wake windows lead to easier bedtimes, and you'll have something concrete for your pediatrician instead of "she's just not sleeping."

It doesn't push a sleep method or set targets. Night waking is normal for a long time, and every baby is different. The journal only shows you what's happening, and leaves the approach up to you and your doctor. It isn't medical advice, and anything about health, breathing, growth, or safe sleep belongs with your pediatrician.

What's inside

  • A care team page — your pediatrician's clinic number and after-hours contact, in one easy-to-find place
  • A safe sleep checklist — questions to go through with your pediatrician, not rules to guess at
  • Where Baby Sleeps and other setup pages — room, light, sound, and what they wear to bed
  • 60 daily sleep logs — naps, wake windows, bedtime, and night wakings on a single page
  • Patterns pages — step back and see the trends your tired brain can't hold
  • The Detail and Looking Back sections — extra room for closer notes, and a look at how far you've both come

It's for new parents in the newborn fog, parents who share night duty and need to hand over notes, and families bringing questions to checkups. It also makes a practical baby shower gift from a friend who's been there, or from a ninang who knows the parents will need something more useful than another onesie.

It won't make the nights shorter. It'll help them make sense.
