About this journal

You picked up a lacrosse stick, threw the ball at a wall, and it went somewhere else entirely. The rebound clanged off the frame of your stick. Then you did it again. That's how nearly every good lacrosse player started.

The encouraging part is how much of the sport you can learn alone. Stick skills get built against a wall, one throw and one catch at a time, and the players who improve fastest are the ones who count those reps. That helps a lot when lacrosse is still a small sport where you live and team practice might only happen once a week.

The Lacrosse Journey is a lacrosse training journal that does the counting with you. Log your daily wall ball, both hands, every time. Track your off-hand against your strong hand until the gap closes. Then take it into scrimmages and games, and write down what held up at game speed and what fell apart.

It opens with a quick guide to how the game works, with a reminder that men's and women's lacrosse have different contact rules and gear, so you learn your league's version. Level 1 is the wall ball apprenticeship: cradling, throwing, catching, and ground balls. Level 2 adds dodges, shooting, defense, positional play, and transition. Level 3 gets into advanced stick work, team schemes, conditioning, filming yourself, and preparing for tryouts.

What's inside

  • 12 training session logs — wall ball counts per hand, plus what game speed exposed
  • 12 rep trackers — strong hand, off hand, and your best streak
  • 9 game logs — goals, assists, ground balls, and the play you want back
  • 6 coach and film notes pages — corrections, cues, and homework drills
  • 3 teammate feedback pages — "where should I have been?" answered honestly
  • 15 skill focus pages across three levels, each with a drill you can count
  • A glossary, gear and wall check, goal pages, 12 reflections, and milestone checks

It's for new players, athletes crossing over from other ball sports, and developing players working toward a roster spot. It's also a fun gift for a teammate or a student who just joined a school or club program. Add a few spare balls, since they have a talent for disappearing into bushes.

Find a wall. Start counting.
